Southern Wild Distillery Dasher + Fisher Strawberry Gin 500ml

For this Gin, hand-picked and hand-sliced Tasmanian strawberries (Fragaria x ananassa) were macerated for several weeks in a bespoke D+F Gin-base, made with 19 botanicals. A little sugar was added at the end of maceration to intensify the flavour and aid juice extraction from the fruit. The result is an intense, lush and balanced Gin, dripping with lifted strawberry and floral undertones. It might be easy to imagine something confected and simple but this is far from the case. The purity and class of all of George Burgess' Gins is there in force, only here it is the finest Tasmanian strawberries that are front and centre. There has obviously been a rise in popularity in lower-strength, Gin-based 'liqueurs', and this example fits the zeitgeist beautifully. It's perfect for spritzing up with some light tonic (Strawberry Gin Fizz anyone?) or it can be served neat on the rocks.
