Kilchoman Genesis Harvest S2 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

The second bottling in Kilchoman’s ‘Genesis’ series, created by German importer Hanseatische Weinhandelsgesellschaft Bremen. The idea with this series is to following the creation of Kilchoman’s whisky all the way from barley to bottle, with individual bottlings for each stage of the journey. In total, there are to be eight different expressions. This bottling is dedicated to ‘Stage 2 – Malting’. Kilchoman is known for being a farm distillery, that malts and distils barley grown onsite.

This whisky has been aged in 75% Bourbon casks, 5% Oloroso Sherry casks and 20% Sauternes wine casks. Interestingly, this whisky contains different kinds of barley: Concerto from the Port Ellen Maltings, Concerto from Kilchoman’s own maltings, and Laureate malt also produced on-site. The end result is a dram that offer notes of typical Kilchoman ashy peat, tobacco leaves, vanilla, peaches, white grapes, lemon rind, subtle dried fruits, gingerbread, burnt oak, dark chocolate and green apples.

Limited to just 4,200 bottles, each of which comes with a hinged box and special booklet explaining the malting process.
