This particular Port is a single vintage, known as a "Quinta" Port. Quintas play a significant role in evaluating the quality of a specific growing region and the wines produced there. Among the historic Quintas in the Douro Valley, Quinta dos Malvedos stands out as one of the finest. Graham's Port has had a longstanding association with this Quinta, having acquired the land in 1890. The name "Malvedos" refers to the rapids that once flowed in front of the estate before the Douro River was dammed in the 1960s.

The 2015 vintage is noteworthy, having been declared by the esteemed Noval Port shippers. What makes it interesting is that it was immediately followed by another declared vintage in 2016. It is uncommon for two consecutive vintages to be declared, as tradition dictates that there can only be three declared vintage years in a decade. While the 2016 vintage garnered more attention due to its higher yields, the 2015 vintage still offers exceptional quality, particularly in the form of single Quinta offerings like this one.

This bottling presents a robust and tannic Port, characterized by vibrant red fruit flavors, dry spices, blackberries, red grapes, toffee, dark oak, and a hint of slightly acidic blackcurrants. While it can be enjoyed now, it also has the potential to age gracefully for up to ten years.
