Grahams Late Bottled Vintage 2013 Port 1000ml

Alexandre Mariz, the estate manager at Graham’s Quinta dos Malvedos and neighbouring Quinta do Tua, expressed high optimism for the 2013 harvest. Together with head winemaker Charles Symington and Malvedos winemaker Henry Shotton, they carefully selected the finest vineyards within the two properties for sourcing the wines for the 2013 Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) blend. Notably, exceptional wine lots were obtained from the vinha velha (old vines) and Tinta Amarela at Tua, while both properties also yielded excellent Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes. Additional contributions were made by old vines from other vineyards that traditionally supply Graham’s, namely Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. The grapes were gently trodden in the lagares at the small Malvedos winery.

Graham’s 2013 LBV exhibits a profound purple color with a striking garnet edge. The wine presents captivating aromas of red and black fruits, accompanied by delightful hints of mint and eucalyptus. On the palate, it showcases Graham’s characteristic opulence, unveiling luscious blackberry fruit supported by ripe, smooth tannins that impart a refreshing and lively character to the wine. The finish epitomizes Graham’s renowned complexity and elegance in equal measures.
