The Glenrothes 12 Year Old - The Soleo Collection 700ml

In 2019 Glenrothes launched its Soleo Collection, named for the Spanish method of sun drying grapes destined to become sherry. With this name, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the entire series is aged in sherry casks. The 12 year old offering may be the best of the 4 if you prefer your whiskey to be more scotch and less wine. It is a creamy whiskey with surprising depth. Nutty with strong dried fruit notes, it delivers a cinnamon freshness that is quite pleasant on the palate. A second sip brings old leather, chocolate, tobacco and dried herbs to the front and it possesses a long sweet finish with hints of baking spices.
