First brewed in 1980 and heavy on whole-cone American Cascade hops which drive intense aromas of citrus and pine, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is widely considered one of the beers that sparked the global craft beer revolution! In 1976, Ken Grossman opened The Home Brew Shop in Chico in the Sierra Nevada mountains in northern California, using old dairy farm parts as home-brew kits, sold it in 1978, founded Sierra Nevada Brewing Co in 1979 and releasing their first batch of beer in 1980. Forty years on, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co champion innovation, advanced energy technology & sustainability, now brewing more than 1.7 million hectolitres of beer annually and even Ken's daughter is called Sierra!
