Mellowed for two decades in former bourbon barrels and then polished in 30 year old port pipes, The Balvenie 21 Year Old PortWood is the flagship whiskey from one of the most storied Speyside single malt distilleries in Scotland. Full bodied for a 40% ABV offering it possesses a bold flavour profile rich with notes of raspberries, redcurrants, and cranberries mingling with a white peppercorn and touches of honeyed pecans leading to a long dry finish with a slightly bitter edge. Best served neat but a splash of water releases more of its floral side.
